Oceanside is one of California’s main cities which both domestic and international tourists can’t get enough of. The city offers incredible weather all year, surf-friendly beaches, and, needless to say, some fantastic Oceanside hotels.

There are numerous accommodation options, including vacation rentals and hotels in Oceanside to suit everyone’s budget. There’s excellent value to be had regardless of when you decide to visit. Of course, the off-season will be more affordable than the high-season, and weekdays are cheaper than weekends.

If I ever moved from San Diego for whatever reason, Oceanside would be high on my list. It is one of my favorite little SoCal beach towns and has so much to do. In the meantime, I take any chance I get to visit this little seaside town.

One of the most fabulous stays you can have in Oceanside is at the luxurious Mission Pacific Hotel & Resort. Feel the Californian energy while staying at this flawless display of accommodation that was voted the #1 hotel in San Diego in Condé Nast Traveller 2022. 

Take your pick of 161 awe-inspiring rooms with 11 room styles, a whopping 38 stylish suites, and four studio types. All of which portray the creativity that Oceanside is known for.

The rooms offer a broad range of adventurous artwork and creative textures that you could spend hours gazing at. Those who are lucky enough may only have to open their blinds to be greeted by the ocean.

While staying at the Mission Pacific Hotel, you’re guaranteed the royal treatment in your room and outside. Inside each room is an ILLY coffee machine, an en suite private bathroom with Mansfield bathrobes and all of the essentials. A few of these include things like a clothes rack, a flat-screen TV, a beverage cooler to keep the beers extra cold, and a laptop safe.

Part of Destination by Hyatt, a large hotel company, is the extremely popular four-star Seabird Resort. It’s located right on Oceanside beach and provides guests with an experience that’s more than a typical hotel stay.

They create an unmatched ambiance through their quintessential Californian layout. This is my favorite hotel in Oceanside. I love the whimsical decor that reminds me of an adult version of a Dr. Seuss movie.

Staying at The Seabird gives you a variety of room and suite options. It boasts a total of 226 hotel rooms with 16 different styles and seven suite types. All of which contain modern furniture, unique decor, and fabulous artwork presented by the Oceanside Museum of Art.

Some rooms offer extraordinary ocean views while others have views of the city, ideal for anyone who loves to wake up to a lovely panorama in the mornings.

The room amenities are some of the best in the business. They feature powerful air conditioning to give you a break from the California heat, private balconies with a table and chairs, en suite bathrooms with free silky bathrobes, soft fluffy slippers, toiletries, and either baths or showers.

Once you’ve settled in into your cozy room, head downstairs to check out the hotel’s communal complimentary services.

Dive into the pool or spend time relaxing at Sunny’s Spa & Beauty, which offers all kinds of treatments for ladies and gents. Wrap up your day with a bite to eat at Piper’s sunny sidewalk patio, which serves dishes with ingredients sourced from local farms.

The wonderful Brick Boutique Hotel, located just steps from popular Oceanside City Beach, is housed in an 1888 historical building.

When you show up at this Oceanside stay, you’ll be truly blown away by the shape of the building and how it has kept its vintage look over the years. On the inside, however, it’s a contemporary masterpiece.

Presenting ten exquisite guest rooms that accommodate 2 – 4 people each, these rooms are perfect for small families or couples. They also encourage visitors to bring their dogs along, which will surely score some extra points.

The rooms themselves are sizeable with large, floor to ceiling windows, you can even see downtown from some of them.

They also have private balconies with patio furniture and historic finishes to help you remember where you are. On top of that, all of rooms have necessary essentials for some downtime, like flat screen TVs with Netflix.

For an evening bite, venture downstairs to the Restaurant & Oyster Bar on the ground floor which serves up the tastiest chargrilled oysters and other street eats that are popular in the area.

Once the food is settled, you’ve got several options for a nightcap to round out your day. Try out the Caribbean-styled Cococabana Rooftop Bar, the lavish Frankies Cocktail Bar, or the intimate Stone Beer Garden. All of which are on the hotel’s grounds, so you won’t have far to walk.

Private parking is available, but not on the hotel’s grounds; it’s at a location nearby and costs $10.

The area’s greatest attractions are less than 10 miles away, such as the informative Museum of Making Music, the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum and the San Diego Botanic Garden. Oceanside’s train station is just a short walk, and from there, you can venture into San Diego city.

The Green Room Hotel is an inviting escape in south Oceanside, close to Carlsbad Village. The area is surrounded by white sandy beaches, welcoming locals and offering dozens of dining options for an nightly feed. Only opened in the summer of 2021, this hotel has been fully renovated into the triumph it is today.

Guests can choose from six deluxe studios, five suites, and one two-bedroom suite.

The suites boast a bohemian touch, along with specially crafted art work made by locals. Not to mention, comfortable beds with memory foam mattresses, laptop working spaces and rugs all the way from Morocco.

Some spaces have their own hot tubs, private patios and kitchenettes with top-notch appliances like mini fridges, coffee makers, and refrigerators. Talk about a luxury getaway.

Where this accommodation wins is their thoughtful extras that you wouldn’t find in any other hotel chain.

A few of these include extra beds upon request for an added guest, cedar hot tubs which can fit eight people, free on-site parking, grab-and-go foam surf boards, and beach cruiser push bikes. Best of all, these amenities are free of charge!

An Oceanside holiday in San Diego just wouldn’t be complete without some daytime fun, and the Green Room Hotel is in just the right location for that. Around the area you’ll find fun bowling alleys, insane snorkeling and diving experiences, and hiking trails. You’ll have no problem getting your daily dose of California fresh air.

Tucked away in the alluring northern part of San Diego is the recently refurbished SpringHill Suites by Marriott, only 7.5 miles from McClellan-Palomar Airport.

149 guest rooms give visitors a wide range of choices to suit all types of budgets. You may like a room with a balcony or perhaps you don’t want any distractions and just want a nice place to reside. There are so many options, so you can have whatever you like! 

Each modern pad has its own seating area with a sofa, a 42-inch flat-screen HD cable TV, a coffee machine, a desk, and a private en suite bathroom.

SpringHill Suites provides an assortment of facilities for their guests. Get your pump on in the fitness center, take the kids for a float in the swimming pool, or catch up with other family members in the meeting area. Don’t forget about the restaurant, where a complimentary hot breakfast buffet awaits you every morning. Free food is good food!

The one downside to SpringHill Suites is the extortionate parking prices they charge their guests. They operate a professional valet service for $42 a day. Since it’s valet, car owners cannot park their own vehicles. However, you got some options. Just across the street is a flat-fee parking lot that charges $5. The problem with this parking lot is that the day resets at 12:01 AM and you can’t prepay for the next day. I recommend dropping off your luggage and then parking at the Oceanside Transit Center, just about 10 minutes on foot away for free. Get directions here>>

This stay in Oceanside is one of the most convenient when it comes to location. The Oceanside Pier is only around the corner, Legoland California Resort is a 15-minute drive away, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo Safari Park is just 30 miles away.

Last but not least, we have the Best Western Plus Oceanside Palms. Best of all, it’s perfectly located near Camp Pendleton and Oceanside.

Comprising of 114 clean and functional air-conditioned guest rooms, each room has its own coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, work desk and fashionable en-suite bathroom with a hair dryer, powerful shower, and soft towels.

It has pretty much all you could want when you’re away from home.

Looking at Best Western Plus’s facilities, they have a great variety for their guests to enjoy. A few of these include:
